The Promptchat scripts and where to put them in your webpage
.
Script #1 allows you to monitor your website visitors in real time and invite them for a live chat session proactively.
Insert this script to every page of your website where you want this ‘real-time’ website visitor monitoring to work.
Here is this script:
- Code:
<script type ="text/javascript" src="http://promptchat.com/MasterServer/Public/ScriptProvider.php" ></script>
Advise your web designer to insert this code at the end of each page just before the closing “body” tag.
In 99% of the cases it is a single copy/paste, this will depend on how your website was created.
Script#2 is for installing the live chat button into your webpage(s).
When your website visitors click on this button, the chatbox opens and You, as the operator receive alerts of the chat request.
You will insert this script only on the webpage(s) where you want to offer the live chat support to your visitors.
The actual graphic image for this button can easily be changed inside the Promptchat operator software.
There are default images in your account.
Insert this script to the exact location in the HTML where you want the button to appear. Here is this script:
- Code:
<a href="javascript:Promptchat_Open();"><img src="http://75.101.131.65/PC21/MasterServer/Public/StatusImage.php">
After successful script installation, you can launch the Promptchat operator software by double clicking on the promptchat icon on your desktop.
You will be prompted for an Account name a Operator name and a Password.
These were sent to you in an email right after your account registration.
